Hi! I'm Keitha Hernandez, the Instructional Coach at Lockhart Junior High School. My job is to help improve academic outcomes for students by bringing evidence-based instructional practices into classrooms through working with teachers and other school leaders.
I have worked with Lockhart ISD for 20 years. I spent 18 years teaching 3rd grade, 4th grade, Gifted and Talented, and Learning Strategies at Plum Creek Elementary. For the past two years I have been an Instructional Coach at the junior high school. I have enjoyed all of the positions I have held and have found them all to be challenging and rewarding.
I am a Lockhart High School graduate and continued my education at Texas State University. I received a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I also hold a minor in Health Education and a certification in Gifted and Talented Education.
I was born and raised right here in Lockhart, Texas and am happy to call it my home. My family and I live here and my daughter attends school here as well. We love our small town events, evening walks, and being close to our family and friends.
I am so honored to work for a wonderful, supportive district. Go Lions!
