I was born and raised in Austin,Texas. After graduation, I moved to Brownwood,Texas to attend Howard Payne University. I earned my Bachelor degree in Education. I moved back to Austin and got a teaching job in Giddings,Texas, got married a year later and moved back to Brownwood. I taught at Brownwood State School for two years, while my husband worked on his Masters. We then moved and both taught in Kilgore,Texas. Two years later we moved to Lockhart, my husband hometown and I have been here for 32 years.
My husband teachers in Austin at Bowie HS and he has been there 28 years. I have 3 adult children and 3 grandchildren. My oldest son is a band director at LJHS, my second son teaches in Austin at Anderson HS and my daughter teaches in Pflugerville at Windermere.
I taught 5th and 6th grade at Lockhart Intermediate, which is called Navarro Elementary until Lockart Junior High was built. LJHS opened in 2000 and I have been here since then.
I am excited about having the opportunity to teach the Fusion Program, which is designed to help students enjoy reading.
I spend most of my spare time reading, watching football and spending time with my grandchildren.
