My name is Nicole Bishop, and I direct the choirs of Lockhart Junior High School, the MLCC Freshman Campus and I assist at Lockhart High School. I am a music educator whose career began in 2001 as the director of an Elementary and High School music program in Cache, Oklahoma. Additionally, I teach 6th Grade ELAR.
I hold a Bachelor of Music Degree with a minor in English Literature from Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma. I have also studied music at Oklahoma Baptist University and The University of Texas at San Antonio. Professional memberships include TMEA and TCDA.
Under Mrs. Bishop's direction, many choir students are selected each year to perform in the TMEA Region Choir. Additionally, many choir students have been in the casts for community musicals and theater performances. Several have been selected to sing with The Hill Country Youth Chorus and the Conspirare Youth Choirs. The LJHS Honor Choir has also received Superior ratings at UIL Concert and Sight Reading. Superior ratings have also been received at The Pride of Texas Music Festival.
Aside from teaching, Mrs. Bishop is very busy teaching private voice lessons and spending time with her family. Her husband, Kyle, is the pastor of a local church. Her four children also keep her very busy with a variety of activities. She enjoys crochet, family activities, singing at church and spending time with friends.
