Attendance Office

LJHS Attendance Office

  • School begins at 7:55 a.m. If you are absent from school, your parent must call the school office before 10:00 a.m. on the day of the absence, and you must bring a written note to the office at 7:50 a.m. on the first day you return to school. The written note must be signed by your parent/guardian and include your reason for absence along with a phone number.

  • The school's official reporting period for attendance is 9:30 a.m.

  • Excused absences, personal illness, and death in the family are set by the State.

  • Unexcused absences may result in credit loss or a fine for your parents for your "truancy."

  • When a parent/guardian knows in advance that his child will be absent, a written note, including a phone number, is required to be submitted to a principal. This absence is subject to approval by the principal.

  • Tardies to school and/or class are recorded and may result in disciplinary action.

  • If it is necessary for you to leave during the day, you must bring a signed request with a phone number from a parent/guardian. For your protection, you will only be released to individuals on the emergency card. Identification will be checked.
